RULES
THEME: Babies

• SUBMISSION DEADLINE: All entries for the November 1995 contest must be received by November 6, 1995.

• A maximum of three (3) prints and/or digital images may be submitted by each CONTESTANT.

• ENTRIES: Photos may be submitted electronically or via snail mail:
  • Electronic submission -- Submit entries via E-mail to contest@istep.com. Entries must be in either JPEG or GIF format, and no greater than 600 x 400 pixels.
  • Submitting an entry via URL -- Please include on your OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM the URL(s) of where your entry(s) is located. If your entry(s) is selected through our PRELIMINARY JUDGING process as described within these rules, we will retrieve your entry(s) from your web site. Your entry(s) will then be placed on our web site in accordance to our PRELIMINARY JUDGING process.
  • Snail mail submission -- Mail entries to:

    Entries must be in print format, no greater than 8 x 12 inches. Do not submit original negatives. Submissions will be returned if accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed return mailer. We will make reasonable effort to return your entries safely. However, we do not assume any liability in the loss or safety of entry submissions. Please write your name and address on the back of each print.

• ENTRY AND PROCESSING FEES: There are NO entry and processing fees for electronic submission. There is a $5 per picture processing fee for snail mail entries. Please make checks payable in U.S. dollars to Istep Communications.

• ALL ENTRANTS MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING BY THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE STATED ABOVE:
  1) Photos or digital images;
  2) An official entry form in electronic or printed form;
  3) Model releases may be required later if deemed necessary; and,
  4) If feasible, please supply a general description and technical data such as camera, lens, exposure, film, or filters. The information you provide may be used later as part of the voting exhibition if your entry is selected through the PRELIMINARY JUDGING process.

• JUDGING: The voting period by the Internet general public will begin on November 9, 1995 and last for three (3) weeks, or until enough votes are received as determined by ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS.
  • PRELIMINARY JUDGING: ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS will select up to six (6) pictures from all entries to place on our Web site for final judging by the Internet general public. ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS assumes no responsibility for any degradation of entry submissions that may occur from image scanning, image resizing, or other means necessary to display the images on our Web site.
  • FINAL JUDGING: One (1) winner will be selected through voting by majority from the Internet general public.

• PRIZE: The winner will be awarded $75 payable in U.S. dollars.

• WINNERS: The winner will be notified via either E-mail or snail mail. Notification and issuance of the prize to the winner should be no later than December 9, 1995, or a future date as determined by ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS.

• Due to the nature of displaying images on the World Wide Web, ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS assumes no liability for any infringement of copyright by third parties that may occur through copying or downloading of images from ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS's Web site.

• Submission grants ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS a non-exclusive license to use submitted photographs or computer images in print, electronic, and other media for purposes of advertising and promotion. COPYRIGHTS IN SUBMITTED PHOTOS REMAIN WITH THE CONTESTANT.

• The CONTESTANT represents that he or she is eighteen (18) years of age or older, the owner of all prints and/or digital images submitted, and that submitted work is the CONTESTANT'S original work.

• INDEMNITY: The CONTESTANT shall defend and indemnify ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS and hold ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS harmless from and against any and all claims, actions, proceedings, judgments, damages, injuries, orders, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to: (i) failure of any representation by the CONTESTANT in this Contest to be entirely true, (ii) any libel, invasion of privacy, or disparagement claims, and (iii) any violation or infringement of the intellectual property rights or other rights of third parties by CONTESTANT.

• ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS reserves the sole right to void this contest if it determines any fraud, or fails to receive an adequate amount of entries as determined by ISTEP COMMUNICATIONS. This contest is void where prohibited.

• Rules subject to change without prior notice.

• Employees and relatives of Istep Communications are ineligible to participate in the Monthly Photo Contest.
